Choose a travel sound machine by the sounds and power routine you will actually use. The current Yogasleep Rohm white, store SKU 4005200 is the simpler three-sound candidate. LectroFan Micro2+ black is the candidate for a wider sound selection and Bluetooth audio. We have not measured sound masking or sleep outcomes, and neither selection is a treatment recommendation.
Why these models
Both are portable rechargeable sound machines with manufacturer documentation. We compare a simple sound-only control path with a machine that also streams audio, rather than ranking them by customer ratings or promises of better sleep. Exact revision matters: older Rohm offers and Micro2 offers can retain names while the maker’s current documentation changes.
| Travel decision | Current Rohm, white SKU 4005200 | Current LectroFan Micro2+ |
|---|---|---|
| Sound menu | Three options on current page: white noise, bright white noise and deep blue noise | Eleven total: four noise, five fan and two ocean sounds |
| Phone needed for built-in sounds | Standalone sound-machine function | Standalone sound-machine mode; Bluetooth is separate |
| Power | USB rechargeable on manufacturer comparison | Rechargeable; 2025 manual describes supplied USB cable |
| Bluetooth audio | Not a reason to select this model; don’t substitute Rohm+ | Manufacturer documents compatible-phone audio streaming |
| Timer/night light | Not established for this exact revision in the reviewed instructions | Not established in the reviewed manual/page |
| Main drawback | Current sound descriptions differ from older retailer bullets | More modes and controls; older Micro2 revision confusion |
Sources: Yogasleep’s current Rohm store page, LectroFan’s current Micro2+ page, and the linked 2025 Micro manual.
Do not merge old and new documentation
Yogasleep’s captured current Rohm page identifies the white store SKU and a 3.4oz weight, with stated dimensions of 3.4 × 1.6 × 3.8 inches. Its current sound menu differs from the older Rohm Amazon description that names surf and deep white noise. The listing UPC matches the store product, but that does not establish which hardware or sound revision will arrive. Use the current manufacturer-store identity for this selection and verify the actual unit’s sound menu and charging port. We do not transfer the older offer’s sound list to the current store unit.
The LectroFan storefront now says Micro2+, even though its URL and some linked manual text still say Micro2. The product page states a rechargeable 20-plus-hour battery claim. Its linked 2025 manual gives up-to-24-hour built-in sound and up-to-20-hour Bluetooth runtime at typical volumes. These are manufacturer conditions, not our overnight measurements or guarantees at your volume. We use current Micro2+ documentation and do not import the shorter runtime figures from older Micro2 FAQs.
The black single-unit Amazon listing B07ML45FCQ names Micro2 in its title but Micro2+ and stereo readiness in its current bullets. It is a candidate identity with a revision discrepancy, not proof that every unit shipped is the current plus version. Confirm the plus revision before using its current runtime or stereo feature expectations. The source-only manufacturer’s current product is the safer documented destination while that ambiguity remains.
Pack the power path, not just the machine
The reviewed manuals/pages support USB charging and a rechargeable battery; they do not establish a single charging connector for every older and current offer. We therefore do not promise that your USB-C laptop cable fits either selected shipment. Check the socket on the exact unit and bring its supplied cable and an appropriate USB power source.
For Micro2+, the 2025 manual says to charge before first use with the supplied cable; its indicator changes from red to green when full. It separates built-in sound mode from Bluetooth mode. Practise the switch and volume controls at home, so reconnecting a phone is not part of the routine when you only want the internal sounds.
If a shut-off timer or night light is essential, obtain model-specific confirmation before choosing either. An unconfirmed feature is not a reason to buy. Use a level that suits you and the space; we have no measured room coverage, dB output or proof that louder settings improve outcomes. Avoid treating a sound machine as a promise of uninterrupted sleep or complete privacy.
Budget and drawbacks
| Option | Budget evidence | Useful reason to buy | Check before checkout |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current Rohm white 4005200 | Current delivered total unknown | Simple documented three-sound selection | Charging connector and current sound revision |
| Current Micro2+ black | Current delivered total unknown | Wider built-in sound menu plus Bluetooth audio | Plus revision, supplied cable and mode-specific runtime |
| Keep a working sound routine | No purchase total assessed | You may already have the sound source you need | Whether phone use or charging interrupts that routine |
We have not established a price winner. Manufacturer-store links above are source-only destinations; ambiguous Amazon revision candidates remain excluded from affiliate rendering pending identity resolution. No current stock or purchase availability is promised.
If listening to music is the main goal, read the travel Bluetooth speaker guide. A speaker and a standalone noise generator answer different carry decisions; we have not tested which sounds better or masks more noise.
Micro2+ as a phone speaker: choose the mode before the controls
A Bluetooth function may let one device cover two travel uses, but it also changes what the buttons do. The LectroFan Micro2+ black is documented for built-in sounds and Bluetooth audio. Its current product page links a manual whose diagrams and pairing name still use MICRO2; use the current linked 2025 manual, English controls on pages 1–2, checked October 29, 2026, with that revision distinction intact. These controls are not Rohm instructions.
The power switch has separate Bluetooth, Off and Sleep Sounds positions. Choose standalone Sleep Sounds when you want the internal sound selection without a phone stream. Choose Bluetooth when your purpose is playing phone audio through the device. The speaker feature does not establish that a phone connection is required for built-in sounds or that both modes play simultaneously.
| Situation | Documented behavior or control | Decision before relying on it |
|---|---|---|
| Use internal sounds while leaving the phone elsewhere | Sleep Sounds is a separate switch position | Learn this mode before departure |
| Pair another phone | Only one Bluetooth device connects at a time | Check whether another nearby phone already holds the connection |
| Device does not appear for pairing | Manual says check that it is not connected to another phone and is within range | Repeated pairing attempts alone may not solve the conflict |
| A call arrives in phone Bluetooth mode | Play/pause control answers and ends calls | A familiar audio button has a call function here |
| Double-press the call control | Manual describes redialing the last dialed number | Learn the gesture before using the speaker around others |
| Check charging rather than pairing | Red/green charging indication differs from solid/blinking blue Bluetooth indication | A blue state is not a full-charge confirmation |
This makes the buying question more precise: do you want a self-contained sound generator, or do you also need the phone-speaker controls? Keep a standalone unit you already own if it meets the first requirement. Select the additional Bluetooth function only if its one-device connection and call controls fit the second. No microphone quality, meeting-app support or call privacy performance has been tested by DCL.
Before choosing a combined device to save bag space, practice switching between the two modes and identify which phone is connected. Keep that short check separate from any claim about sound masking or sleep improvement. The ability to accept a phone call is not evidence that it will suit work calls or that an incoming call behaves acceptably in every phone configuration.
Budget and drawback: current delivered prices and a newly qualified retailer package are unknown. Include the appropriate charging arrangement already described above. We have not established a two-unit stereo setup, simultaneous streams, automatic cross-phone handoff or comparative speaker quality. If music playback is the primary purpose, compare the complete speaker requirement before treating Micro2+ as a substitute.
